I-485

Green card (I-485)

Adjust status to permanent resident.

This guide explains what the form is -- not whether you should file it. Only a licensed attorney or BIA-accredited representative can advise you on eligibility.

Form I-485 is the application to adjust your immigration status to permanent resident (green card holder) while remaining in the United States.

Individuals in the United States who believe they may be eligible to become permanent residents file this form. USCIS determines eligibility -- this guide does not.

Government fees are paid directly to USCIS, not to Reunite Assure. Verify current fees at uscis.gov before filing.
