Remove conditions (I-751)

Petition to remove conditions on your permanent resident status.

This guide explains what the form is -- not whether you should file it. Only a licensed attorney or BIA-accredited representative can advise you on eligibility.

Form I-751 is the petition to remove the conditions on your 2-year conditional permanent resident status, converting it to a 10-year permanent resident card.

Conditional residents who obtained status through marriage file this form, typically jointly with their spouse. Waivers are available in cases of divorce (in good faith), abuse, or extreme hardship. USCIS determines eligibility — this guide does not.
