Privacy Policy

Reunite Assure is self-help software. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we are not affiliated with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any government agency. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Information we collect

We collect the information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and the answers and documents you enter while completing a USCIS form with our software. We also collect account and usage information (like sign-in activity and which forms you've started) and limited technical information (like browser type and IP address) needed to keep the service secure and working correctly.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the software: to save your progress, fill out the official forms you select, generate your completeness and consistency checks, and let you download your completed forms. We use it to process payments for the software, to provide customer support, and to maintain the security and integrity of the service. We do not use your information to decide your immigration case, predict an outcome, or recommend which form or benefit to pursue — the software never makes those determinations, and neither do we.

AI field explainer

When you ask our AI assistant to explain a form field, we send the field's label and the text of your question to OpenAI, our AI service provider, along with the relevant excerpts from official USCIS instructions, so it can generate a plain-language explanation. We do not send your full application, your other answers, or your uploaded documents to OpenAI as part of this feature. Every field-explainer interaction is logged for compliance and quality review. The assistant is restricted to explaining fields and checking completeness — it cannot and does not tell you which form to file, whether you qualify, or what your answer to a legal question should be.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers (sub-processors) who help us run Reunite Assure, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their function:

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your account data, form answers, and uploaded documents are stored with Supabase. Uploaded documents are kept in a private storage bucket that only you (and, where applicable, our authenticated backend processes) can access.
  • OpenAI — powers the optional AI field explainer described above. Only field labels and your free-text questions (plus official USCIS instruction excerpts) are sent — not your full application.
  • Stripe — processes payments for one-time software purchases. We do not store your full payment card number; Stripe handles that directly.

We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, but we do not file anything with USCIS on your behalf and we do not proactively share your information with USCIS or any other government agency.

How we protect your information

We treat your information, including your immigration-related documents, as sensitive. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Uploaded documents live in a private storage bucket, and database access is restricted by row-level security so that, by default, only you can read or write your own records. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we design the system to minimize who and what can access your data.

Your privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you can still exercise your right to know or delete at any time.

These rights aren't limited to California — anyone can request deletion of their account and data at any time from their account settings, or by contacting us. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a deletion request and will delete your information except where we are required to retain it (for example, financial records needed for tax or audit purposes).

Data retention

We keep your account information and form data for as long as your account is active, so you can save and resume your work. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and uploaded documents, other than what we're legally required to retain.

Children's privacy

Reunite Assure is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
